This is our 6th year going. Many of you know Winston was injujured right after we got there. Its a 15min walk from the car to the gate when you show up late :D and we had to stop twice for water breaks. Finally get in the gate walking to find friends we are meeting and Winston has issues. Long story short he had 5 shavings? off the pads on 3 different paws. So we didn't get to do much. No shopping this year :( We mainly say in the grass and listened to one of the stages and watched. But here's some pics

We met up with Paige from Lone Star Pyrs and Paws Rescue which Im sure you've heard me mentioned. She had three of her personal dogs with her. Winsont behaved.. NO issues and I didn't even try to keep him away from them or anything.

We also met up with one of my other rescue friends and Winston got to meet one of her dogs..

There was no way he could make it back to the car so I got one of the security guards to get someone to give us a ride in one of the golf carts back, since I coulod obviously not carry him! It was an intersting ride. It was one of the long ones with three rows of seats instead of two. Winston and I were in the middle. Problem was Winston is longer than the car is wide  So he is standing where your feet go and I am laying on the seat long ways with my feet sticking off. He doesn't want his head sticking off so his front feet are about 6 inches back from the edge which puts his back feet right on that eds  One wrong step and he was going to fall off the back. So I then have my arm across holding on to the seat infront of us as a rialing of sort. Since my arm was there he decided he could sit down.. ON MY ARM. So Im trying to hold him up cause if I let go he is gonna fall off. It was an intersting and way too long ride back to the car :D .

Then to top off the evening as Im almost home my friend calls and her husband is stuck on the side of the road with the kids. She misunderstood where he was at an drove to the wrong place so she wanted to know if I could go jump him. Jumping didn't work and we ended up being there for over two hours. One of the kiddos climbed in back with Winston and he was so happy to relax with her! Talk about load snoring of "I can finally relax"!!

LOL. The golf cart story was pretty funny to me too. Glad to hear his paws are better. That just proves how much we love our babies and there is nothing we wouldnt do for them.

What a great day Crystal, except for poor Winstons paws. Loved the golf cart story, and I think he has a pal for life in that back seat ;)

Lol! Great (but not so great) story and great pics! That’s the beauty and the beast of our relationship with our babies.. If we’re doing things right - they trust us sincerely… even trusting that we can hold all the weight of their 150 to 200 lb butts! Hope your arm has recovered! I imagine you must have been exhausted!

First of all, way to go Winston for doing so well with all those dogs!!!! Glad to know Winston is doing okay but what a day. Poor guy and poor mamma! Love the golf cart story even though I imagine it wasn't cute at the time.
Just glad he is doing better!

So even while I was laying there, arm trying to bend ways it isn't supposed to, and Winston is seconds away from falling off... Im thinking OMG this is so rediculous Im almost laughing NOW! So yes, it is ok to laugh =)

Winstons paws are getting better. He still limps and stumbles and has trouble going out to go potty but he will stand long enough to drink instead of laying down and drinking less. I can tell they are healing, they look better, black again instead of the reddish blackish owie look. The old skin is still handing there, should I cut it off? Its not going to grow back. It's like a flap that covers the hole there it was scraped off. He is feeling a little better, for the first time tonight he went and got one of his toys to lay and suck on.

Wow what an adventure. I'm glad his paws are getting better. If it is not to late, I wouldn't mess with cutting it, it will wear off.
