DOTM Interview By: Beauregard
Phone rings:
Beau: Hey guys, it's Beauregard calling to interview you for March DOTM.
Abby: WooHoo! Nice to talk to you Beau! I am so excited to be DOTM! I always knew that I would be famous, Mom and Dad tell me everyday that I am a Princess!!
Louie: Hi Beau, thanks for calling! Hold on a minute, let me put you on speaker phone........Abby tends to drool all over the phone.
Beau: I hear your mom owns a doggy bakery, how cool is that? I'll bet you get all kinds of yummy treats whenever you want.
Abby: It is cool! I help Mom bakes them and I always get to taste-test the cookies every batch she makes. I do admit that I am sad that I don't get to eat ALL the cookies, because I would eat the whole tray if she let me!!
Louie: Mom told me that I was her inspiration to bake treats because I have a wheat allergy. Mom also told me that I am the true taste-tester because I can be a picky eater at times, Abby on the other hand will eat anything!!
Beau: Louie, what is it like having Abby for a baby sister?
Louie: I love my sister, I have trained her well. She is great company for me when Mom & Dad are at work. She doesn't look like a "baby" anymore though, now she is taller than me, will she ever stop growing??
Abby: I love being Louie's sister, I play with him & snuggle with him all the time.
Beau: What is your favorite thing in the whole world?
Abby: Snuggling, drooling, snoring, sleeping, farting, and following my Mom everywhere! Oh and of course I love being treated like a princess :)
Louie: I love going for car rides with my Dad, he takes me for a ride almost every day! As soon as he jingles his keys and says "c'mon Lou" I am right at the door waiting for him!
Beau: What is best trick you have taught Jen so far?
Louie: I taught her to give me a cookie when she says commands like "sit, stay, speak, wait, touch, lay down, high five, leave it, etc..........
Abby: I taught Mom and Dad that I want my back scratched whenever I put my butt in their faces....lol.
Beau: Where is your favorite place to go with your mom?
Abby: The kitchen, the living room, the dining room, bedroom, bathroom, outside, in her car, Petsmart, training class.........I guess everywhere she goes, I love my Momma!
Louie: In her car, did I tell you that I love car rides?
Beau: What is the sneakiest trick you have played on your mom?
Louie: I trick my Mom all the time! If I am outside & she calls me to come back in, sometimes I am not ready yet, so I sit where I am and I don't move. Then she has to come out with my leash........as soon as she gets close to me I jump up & run around her in circles. Then we get to go for an extra walk in the woods, my favorite place! And if she is sitting in MY chair, I go to the backdoor and scratch at it pretending I have to go outside, when she gets up to let me out, I run back and get in my chair......haha.
Abby: Well it's not really a trick, but I love to sneak into bed at night. I wait until Mom and Dad are sleeping and I quietly sneak into bed. I am very careful not to step on them and then I stretch out right between them.
Beau: Who is the top dog in your house and why?
Abby: Lili the 12 yr old cat rules this house! Sometimes when I come back in from being outside, Lili comes over and has to sniff me, I just stay still and I don't move until he is done and walks away. And if he is in the kitchen when Mom gives us fresh water, Louie and I sit still and wait for Lili to drink it first, even though he has his very own water bowl!
Louie: Yep Lili. I think Lili gets grumpy because he is a boy with a girl's name.......but don't tell him I said that.
Beau: Can you share any special training tips for getting moms and dads to do what you want them to do?
Louie: If you want your parents to play fetch with you, take your toy and drop it on their laps or feet several times until they throw it for you......repeat this several times a day & with anyone that comes to your house. If the person says "OK, I will throw it for you once, and that's it" ignore that and repeat several times!
Abby: Whenever I put my sad face on & gently give kisses, my Mom and Dad melt like butter.
Beau: Do you have a favorite game you like to play?
Abby: Tug of War with Louie and playing catch with my Dad.
Louie: Playing fetch, catch, and hunting for squirrels, bunnies, and chipmunks in my yard........although I have never caught one yet, Mom is very happy about that!
Beau: Your mom is a nurse, what does she do to make you feel better when you are sick?
Louie: Momma always gives me kisses & tells me I am her good boy. We recently found out that I have Hip Dysplasia, so Mom and Dad take very special care of me. I have to take medicine every day, so she makes it yummy by hiding my medicine in canned food and rolling them into meatballs. I used to get nasty ear infections too, but she cut wheat and corn out of my diet & cleans my ears with warm water and vinegar...........I haven't had an ear infection in months and months...woohoo!
Abby: I guess I am lucky, I have never been sick. I can tell when Louie isn't feeling good, I am extra gentle with him and give him lots of kisses.
Beau: Is there anything special you want to tell your MOC friends?
Abby: Hello fellow Mastiffs! Just remember to always share with your parents. The best way to do this is to take a big drink of water, let those slingers grow, and then wipe your face on their clothing, they love that!
Louie: Although I am not a Mastiff, I want to thank you all for welcoming me. Tell your parents thank you for finding MOC. Mom tells me that Abby and I will be happy & healthy pups from all the great information she has found on MOC.
Beau: Thanks for the interview, it has been fun talking to you. Now I'm going to log on to your mom's website and drool over her cookie selections.
