Sadly Neo Rescue has not been helpfull - I am not sure why other than to say that here in Florida Giant Breeds seem to be falling from the sky and we can't save them all.
Julie and I, as well as Chelsea and all other at SSMR are all working full time at jobs, full time with our family, and full time at rescue. Chelsea (Harley and Koda's Mom) has spent her holoiday looking after and transporting a very ill Bordeax - Julie and I have been working on getting Sweet Baby Hippo well and adopted.
His medical condition continues to improve. Julie and I picked him up from Bayshore Medical who was caring for him until his surgery today. I took him over in my truck and was so worried because I have an F250 with a lift kit...don't you know he jumped right in and stuck that big head out the window with such glee
Got him to the hospital in time for surgery. His neutering was very infected so that had to be treated while he is under as well.
The waiting room was packed and he and I found our way to a seat between 2 crated cats and a boxer. I sat down and he sat in between my legs so I could wrap them arond him. He never barked or showed any signs of aggresion twords people or any animal who passed him.
His eyes sadly turned out to be worse than we had thought - and will most likley lose one. But I am confident he will overcome this - simply because his will to love - and be loved is intact.
He continues to amaze and inspire us all...
